About Amy Hartman, Founder of Reaching Beyond Limits

Amy received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Management from Misericordia University. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University and upon graduation received The Kristin Federici Bowser Award for Service. Amy is also certified in Adult Mental Health Interventions, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania.

Amy has been working in the mental health and social service fields since 2009. Amy has worked for Community Counseling Services as Therapeutic Staff Support and at Cornerstone Counseling as a mental health therapist. She has also completed a year internship at Ruth’s Place Women’s Shelter and the Public Defender’s Office as a forensic social worker.

Amy’s experience and skills include: individual, family, and group therapy in a private practice setting, one-on-one behavioral health interventions with children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, Amy has experience in grant research, proposal writing, program planning, development/fundraising, and community outreach.

Amy puts great emphasis on continued growth and learning opportunities, as well as happiness and quality of life. Amy’s background, values, and beliefs are what inspired and motivated her to co-found Reaching Beyond Limits.


About Robyn Ruckle, Co-founder and Program Specialist 

Robyn obtained her degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation from East Stroudsburg University as well as her teaching certification. She has worked in the field for 12 years in recreation programs, behavioral services, and teaching experiences. Robyn most recent role was a teacher of transition age students with autism and intellectual disabilities for four years.

During her time as a special education teacher of transition age students, Robyn witnessed first hand the struggle that parents face when it is time for young adults to find a post secondary placement.

Robyn’s experiences include development and implementation of IEPs, progress monitoring, classroom management, providing differentiated instruction, facilitating community based instruction crisis management, and implementing behavior plans.

Robyn is determined to provide a quality, post secondary placement option with an emphasis on continuing education, retaining skills and obtaining new skills in a fun and nurturing environment.
