Our Mission & Values

Reaching Beyond Limits (RBL) provides services and supports that assist adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities (ID) in the Luzerne-Wyoming and surrounding counties. RBL’s mission is to facilitate learning, independence, and community involvement while providing quality care by qualified staff. RBL envisions a society where individuals with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities lead fulfilling lives and are valued in their community.

Reaching Beyond Limits provides Community Participation Support Services in Kingston, Pennsylvania. This service location offers life skills training, person-centered planning, quality care from qualified staff, and assistance with needs (i.e., medication, bathroom, hygiene, feeding) to aid in each individual’s ability to be independent in the community. Reaching Beyond Limits is licensed by the Department of Human Services to provide CPS to 57 individuals.

Reaching Beyond Limits Day Program provides each individual with an opportunity to go on daily community outings. RBL ensures that each outing is staffed to provide a safe, individualized, and meaningful experience. This will enable each individual at RBL to make informed decisions and exercise choice.

In addition, Reaching Beyond Limits has qualified and passionate staff to provide Behavioral Support Services to adults in day program services and our community. This service allows individuals the opportunity to decrease behaviors that may limit their ability to enjoy each day to its fullest potential. Our Behavior Support Staff works with the individuals and trains their families/caregivers and staff to best serve each individual with the service.
Reaching Beyond Limits provides in-home and community support to assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, and improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.

Reaching Beyond Limits offers Employment Services to individuals interested in obtaining and keeping employment. We provide the participant with the ability to meet the goal of obtaining and sustaining competitive integrated employment.

It is also RBL’s mission to serve as an advocate and a resource for parents and/or caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Reaching Beyond Limits provides information and referral/assistance for other support services in the community. RBL aims to enhance support systems and support activities and enable each individual to be an active and valued community member.

Reaching Beyond Limits was founded and is operated by two professional women. These two women have a combined experience of over 25 years with ASD, ID, and Mental Health Disorders. These two women represent a broad cross-section of skills, knowledge, interests, and community involvement to support and oversee all services.
